Dio Swap... having a slight issue.

Alright so I worked around all the wiring and the motor mount issue I had... Now this is my problem. When you kick it over, it only sparks once per kick. I put the plug in the motor and tried it anyways, same result. One fire, just a *pop* without the exhaust. Sometimes two.

I was thinking I should swap in the Dio CDI box, but the problem I'm having is I can't find the d*** thing. I have an 87 SE50P, the one that looks like a giant Spree.

Let me know if you guys can come up with something.

Alright swapped in CDI, no change. Kick kick *pop*. Compression is fine, I know this much. I heard the bike run before I bought it.

All the views and yet no replies... What a shame. Oh, for reference, I hacked the S wiring off the frame and made an adapter so I wasn't hacking my original wiring on the 87. The colors were all the same and everything lined up good, just got this ignition issue now.

Kickstart is just fine... I even cranked it by hand quite a few times.

Lets put it this way - kick and electric start are fine. Nothing wrong, I just don't have the electric hooked up. I'm going to try that next.

I get one or two sparks for about every 20 revolutions. It's getting frustrating.

I got it. IDK what the * it was, but I used the electric start and it fired right up... it ran perfect as * but the motor d*** near redlines at about 15 and I'm getting 18 tops, but that was with no airbox (I got a little excited and forgot to put it on... ADHD moment).

I'm going to add the airbox and give it another go.

I could be wrong but it sounds to me like the drive belt must be worn.

Alright I'm going to look at it later on tonight. ALOW1, I got your message about the key set from the 94 I ripped the motor off of. I made you a counter offer, so let me know.
