Selling a Spree - some questions.

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

Selling a Spree - some questions.

Post by els »

I have recently decided to sell my 1984 Spree and am wondering what kind of price I should ask for. It's in awesome condition, runs well, only has 230 km on it. All parts are original - even the tires. There's no tears in the seat, only minor scuff marks on the body which could easily be fixed. It literally looks brand new. I purchased it for $500, and spent about $300 on fixing it up, even got it inspected. The only problem is that I haven't been able to register it so it has sat unused in my garage for months, and I'm worried that no one else will buy it for that reason. There are no papers and probably never will be - the guy I bought it from found it in his grandfather's garage long after he died, and no papers ever turned up. In terms of city driving it's not street legal but I suppose in rural areas it would be ideal.

So, what do you think is a reasonable price?

Get it registered or its worthless to anybody who doesnt live in a state with looser restrictions.

Price varies heavily on state and pop density. A spree in mediocre shape loacated in * nowhere south dakota isnt worth the fuel in the tank, but bring it to Detroit and its worth $400+
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
