ok so what is the difference from the 1987 elite 50/50s sb50 motor from the 1988-1990 e/es sb50 motor if they`re both sb50 motors?

ok so those motors are exactly the same? because i saw on the new vt cycles website that they have a 62cc bore kit for the honda 50/50s sb50 motor and not for the elite e/es sb50 motor....my question is that if they`re exactly the same motor which i hope they are cuz supposedly they are both sb50 motors....will that 62cc bore kit work with my elite e then?

I'm thinking you have the elite with the spree motor so I say no. Funny thing VTCycles calls the 87 elite an sb50. I only know of the se50 and se50p for 87? Call vtcycles and check, Keoni will know for sure. Too many codes (se, sa, sb, nb, nq).

I do know the 88-90 sa50's are se50's. Now i'm confusing myself. Talk to Keoni!

NO NO NO! The SB is a slightly modded spree motor, no aftermarket. Any pre 1994 elite uses SE50 parts unless its a SB those use a mix of spree parts and SB parts.

There is no 87 SB50. The SB50 US model years are SB50 88 only, SB50P 88 through 90.

VT Cycles probable have a typo and mean the SE50 for 87.

As Kenny says, they are distinctly different engines.
