got a few things from hawaii today, among them was a chrome clutch cover....

i put it on today, just to see what i thought about it....
I really planned on just painting it black. Because im not a fan of chrome.
Where i live, the roads i ride, there is no way i can keep chrome clean. So
Painting it black was my main thing.
After putting it on, i realized i kinda almost like the chrome,

But Being that my kicker thing is black, i think i really dont have a choice but to paint it black.
One of my friends recommended just doing like half of it black, where it was still chrome but didnt look all out of place. From there i came came up with the idea of painting the most of it, but leaving the front of the circle chrome.
Im not sure, let me all know what your thinking.

I like the idea of leaving just the "front circle" chrome, that would look pretty slick.
Otherwise black on black all the way
And is that an adjustable clutch in the first pic? details on that..

I'd paint the raised parts of the spinny bit black so you get funky effects out of it

But no dude, thats nothing that crazy. just an after market. I wish it was adjustable.

Is it safe to leave part of the clutch bell housing exposed like that?

most people just take off the cover over the rear clutch.
it helps cool everything, but if it gets wet then your clutch slips.
The idea of the peace i bought here is that it keep the clutch / belt cool. And if you hit a mud puddle water wont slash up in there. With the air filter i have on there i try to avoid the rain anyway. So if i do get stuck in the rain, i have more to worry about then just the clutch.

Ohh, makes sense. I was thinking more of debris getting inbetween the belt and the clutch.
Do guys end up going through belts faster when they mod them up from simply more friction and same for the clutch? Just because they were meant for stock 30mph speeds, not 50-60?

thats kinda what im worried about, but thats why i got this instead of just taking it off. lol, stay tune and find out.
And, i dont know, i dont hear a ton about people burning up belts. and people push these bikes upwords of 90mph.

What brand and model helmet is that on the floorboards of your ride in the picture in this thread?
Is that an AFR?
