2000 Elite SA50 SR - what first mod to go faster?
I have a 2000 Elite SA50 SR with about 3000 miles.
It is stock and tops out at 35MPH.
What mods do I need to do to get it to 45MPH top speed?
Will drilling out two baffles in the muffler help acceleration?

Get yourself 9.1 gears and a highspeed pulley from vtcycles (808-593-7733) which will come out to like $105 shipped..should hit 45-50 mph occassionally a little fast depending on how strong the wind is to your back
Honda Elite SA50-S
Stock motor, 9:1 gears, Kelli High speed pulley=a top speed of ?? Maxed the speedo out if that counts..average 45 mph
average 85 mpg

Easy work..to change put on the hs variator just take of the cover on the left side of the bike, use an impact gun to take of the front clutch(aka variator) take it off put the new one on and do everything in reverse order
As for the gears its easy..you just need a press to take off the old gear and put on the new one:

I don't have an impact gun.
i have heard of people putting a open end 10mm wrench, shoved in there to hold the flywheel in place while you use a cheater bar.

2 possibilities. Like Kenny said Harbor Freight is a good source. They often have their 12V impact wrench on sale for about $20. Just hook it to a car battery or even your bike battery. Then you can carry it in your car in case you ever need to do a wheel change!
The other thing you can do is build a simple tool from 2 pieces of steel bar as described here:

Works on a lot of different scooters.
