1994 Honda Elite-Will not start in the morning.

Post by khs1991 »

:( I have a 1994 Honda Elite. It will not start in the morning, it has been around 35-40 degree's. It will turn over fine and maybe idle for a short time and then die. I went home after work yesterday and it started right up and ran pretty good, with a little carb. adjustment. Are these cold blooded, or do i have a problem?

they are kinda cold blooded. but there not that bad.
i was able to start mine when it was 20*F and ride in the winter. But it was rather hard.

Im not sure what type of air filter you have. but try blocking some of the opening when starting it. It might help out.

i have a stock air cleaner that came with it. i cleaned it and put it back on. it is stored in a metal shed and it is pretty cold in there in the mornings. let me know if you have any other idea's.

Mine is a pain in the mornings, so what i usually do is take off the intake tube from carb to air cleaner and put 2 fingers over it to start it then usually one finger just enough to keep it running for about a min. Then pop the tube back on and let it warm up and off you go.

If im having choke problems i find it easier to reach under the body panel and plug off the airbox breather holes.

My auto choke=running on the first kick(assuming the semi functional kick starter engages).

run a clear fuel line, if its empty in the morning then you have a bad fuel valve.
