there is tons of bikes out there with out gear changes that run fine. Sure a top speed it wont last as long as some one with a gear change.

hmm......i find it hard to believe that ill "blow" the bore if i dont get these gears. could u please explain in good detail how this will happen??

There is a slight chance of it over revving due to being underloaded and breaking the rod. Same reason why you dont rev high performance bikes on the stand.

by blow he means smear, or toast the cylinder. (ruin) its because with out a gear change you have to run it WOT just to hit normal speeds. with a gear change you can hit those speeds at lower rpms.
WOT on anything over a long period of time is bad for it. So what he is saying is kinda true. But if you take 2 of the same bikes, one stock gears and one after market. and run them on the stand at full rpm's for a huge amount of time. they will both go out at about the same time.
A bike with a gear change will appear to last longer because they get more miles. but this is false. if instead of miles you go by time at high RPM's, there about the same.
yeah, stillspeeding, what you got to say to that????

i dunno.......i just find this false that this will happen. my opinion of corse. i just dont c it. how can u possibly over rev the engine when it all ready has a rev limiter on it? if what dac says is true.... my bike should of blown up a long time ago, cause i ride wot all the time. no offense to anyone on this topic.

I toasted mine at WOT, but that's cause I just redid the top end, and ran wide open after only 25 miles of break in, couldnt stand taking an hour to commute a 10 minute ride to the library, so I rode home WOT and it shattered the piston when I tried to start it again.

wow, thats interesting. what kind of kit did u have? was it like the my buddy has?

his was a stock spree motor.
any yeah stock cylinders can handle high rpms better. i dont know why. But i have gone though enough cylinders, stock and bored, to know the basics of whats going on.
Stock cylinders are really hard to burn up (unless your just stupid) but bore kits dont last as long. But the power is so worth it.
