I think it might be timing?

Post by ahrenv »

I am having troubles getting my moped to run and idle smoothly. When I go to give it gas, it seems to bog out. I think I have the problem narrowed down to timing, but I am up in the air and open to new ideas. Also if it is the timing, where and how do I go about adjusting that?

thanks-

make sure your not running rich/lean do a plug chop
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Timing is not adjustable. It is fixed inside the flywheel.

That sounds like lean surge. Check for vacuum leaks or an airbox problem.

Important to fix this now b.f you damage the engine.
