Air Filter 86 Spree

Hello all! I'm a NOOB here, just acquired a 1986 Honda Spree in good condition for $1.00!! Long story... Anywho, I only work 1.2 miles from where I live, and this will be great to drive rather then my gas guzzling Z71 Pickup.

Before I get started, I want to say that this sight is full of knowledge and useful information, which is greatly appreciated.

I have a question, and I've looked around, just haven't found the answer yet. My Nifty 50 is missing the intake tube from the carb to the airbox. I was wondering if there was an alternative airfilter to put on that? If so, what is the brand, model, and where to get it.

If not...I'm working on getting an intake tube now, but, while going through the Spree, I noticed there wasn't an airfilter in the airbox...is there supposed to be??

I'm not a technically inclined guy...so, I ask that responses be in layman's terms... :D

Thank you in advance for your time.

Joshua

Welcome to the forums. You need a new tube people have tried aftermarket filters and they never do anything besides not work. YES there is supposed to be a filter in there buy one when you get the tube.

Thanks Kenny! Much appreciated.

As I don't have the manual yet, but have looked at the one posted here and still didn't find the filter, can you please let me know what filter I need? We have a Honda shop about 30 minutes from here...so, I can order one and go get it next time I'm out that way.

I just want to say...scooters are cool. I figured that if I get my tuned good and running well, at 100mpg, it'll cost me .12 cents a day to drive to work, home for lunch, back to work, and home!! LOL!! Love that!!!

not quite 100 on a spree but you should get at least 80

Hmm, I thought I read somewhere they got 100 if they are tuned, etc. Maybe that was in 1986!

Oh well...80 vs. 13 in my truck...I'll take it!! :D

Thanks again for your help Kenny.

sprees arent that great on gas cause you generally have to floor it at every stop light. same reason a v8 truck gets slightly better milage than a v6.
