Starter broken?
This morning I went to start my Spree up and ride it to work, but when I did there was an odd noise and now when I try to start it with the electric start, it makes a whirring noise like a dentist's tool or a dremel.
Any idea? My only guess is the electric starter. Any help would be appreciated!

if it is whirr-ing... then most likely your starter motor is still working. The most probable thing is the starter gear that meshes with the driving pully, you might have broken that. take the side cover off of where the belt is (left side of engine, the tranny case, not the final reduction part...) and check out your starter pinion gear.
WD40 the heck out of that pinion, then blow it out with compressed air.
