Hey guys Im pickup a 2001 Elite 50 this weekend - all original with only 600 miles.
Only problem its been sitting for 5 years in a garage.
I know the carb will need to be cleaned, anything else I should check/replace before attempting to start it?

Congratulations and welcome to the best forum you will ever join pertaining to honda scooters. Drain gas and hopefully the oil pump has not leaked oil into the motor, which it may have done. In your case I would not try to kickstart it as that will surely pump any excessive oil in the crankcase up into the exhaust pipe which is not good. You should disconnect the exhaust pipe from the scooter and then, holding a rag over the exhaust port, pump out any oil using the kickstart. Yes, do clean carb following instructions and you might as well replace the fuel line, spark plug and battery. Consider the age of the tires if they are original. Maybe replace them. Here is some information....

Buy this kit for starters. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-SA50-SA5 ... 8258!US!-1

Also buy a new exhaust ring...The same seller above sells packs of FIVE exhaust rings for under $10! Free shipping too!
