Nice pics! The project looks really tidy, good job.

I'd go white or black for the rims, white looks pretty cool depending on the colour you plan for the panels.
What colour do you plan on making the panels?

I sprayed the rims gloss white yesterday, Im thinking of painting the body red, and also adding a rear trunk. The spree/dio mount pictured above was from a 94 elite s mount, it was shortened so that the rear tire has clearance between the rear fender, and also notice that the tounge piece is also repositioned.

how much shorter compared to an 87 mount?

Im not sure, I was trying to find an 87 mount but couldnt, its freaking hard to score one so had to use what i had an s mount, even those s mounts are getting pretty elusive.

was it hard to remove the mount from the Dio engine?
i tried to remove mine a long time ago but had no luck

are you able to make another mount like this?
i'll give you the tail light assembly as a straight swap for one of these if you want?

let me know mate

happy new year!

Yes can be, use a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar and a piece of pipe unless you have an impact, but I perfer the breaker bar-easier to tell when the bolts breaking loose- you dont want to crack the block
Also rabbi, if they have a dj1/r/rr that mount also works but you will need to drill out the small tube to accept the larger dio bolt, or replace the bushings in the engine case with the ones from the dj1/r/rr series or honda tact/melody - not the small one but the larger one af09
Or you can grab the mount for a af22 or af21, 21 being the small bolt and the 22 being the larger bolt, the 21 runs a af09 engine and the 22 runs either a af16e or af18e ,both engines are pretty much the same but the right side half of the case has different timing ,so you need to use the magneto from that engine
so the mounts you are looking for are
af12/19
af09 -will work ok
af21/22

hey mate, how difficult is it to crack the block?

when i tried to remove the bolt originally i was using a hammer to beat the end of the bolt that holds the mount to the motor... after reading your post I'm a bit worried I may have damaged it

the bolt never came loose, if that makes any difference...
