crankshaft bearng question

might be a stupid question but...

if i can put the crankshaft bearing in and out with my hand without heating the case is the case still good?

like the case had a spun bearing before and now the hole that seats the bearing is too big.

bearing does sit without any wobble but it can be pulled out with bare hand.

trash the case or install and let the bearing free spin with the crankshaft?

case is no good. No good to heat crank case to put crank bearing in and crank seals wont hold good because of heat aluminum it is wrong how to repair. !. I use shop press (lube crank bearing) into case , put a small plywood under a crank case.

glue the Bearing inplace with JB weld (Im sure there is something better) and you should be good. Good Bearings will last a long time. When the bearings need to be replaced again that might be the end after that.
