Can anyone explain in great detail what the carb is, where to find it, and how to clean it? Im sure everyone can but not me. whoever can answer the fastests gets 100$!!!!!!!

go to tech docs in forum index and all the way at the bottom there is a section titled "how to clean carb" read through that. (download spree manual (same place) if that section does not explain where or what the carb is.

Now that i read that thing... Im even more confused. I have no idea what each thing is... What is the air box? etc...

airbox is the black box behind the engine above the wheel (manual will show this, thats why you download it for reference).

Believe me, if you don't know what is what, download the manual and study it hard. Its worth it (not that it costs anything lol).

I just want the thing to go forward when i turn the d*** handle..
The thing about the tech docs is that they use scooter jargon and i dont know anything about that... It would be easier for me if you said the box above wheel than airbox...

Ok, i read the "how to clean the carb" thing again.
Here are the things i dont understand.
Please tell me what each thing is, what it does, where it is, and what it looks like.

1)fuel inlet hose
2)barrel throttle assembly
3)choke wires at the bundle
4)crimp
5)vacuum tube at intake manifold
6)carb cleaner (What should i use...cost?)
7)choke assy
8)main jet
9)needle valve float and retaining pin

1. Fuel inlet hose: tube coming from the top outlet of the fuel valve, which is that thing coming out of your gas tank.
2. In the manual (hope you downloaded it), on the carb assembly, there is cap with a cable coming out of it (kinda looks like a star from the top) that is the trottle assembly cap, unscrew that and pull out what is inside and that is ur barrel throttle assembly (be carful not to get it dirty, or dirt inside the hole it came out of).
3. The choke is also reffered to as the auto bystarter in the manual and is the black thing coming out of the side of the carb and has a set of two wires coming out of it, the bundle is the part where they are (usually zip-tied) together.
4. Specifically a crimp is when you take a crimping tool, and "squish" usually a metal connector together (someone else will have to explain this more better).
5. The vaccume tube is the tube coming out of the lower outlet from the fuel valve (thing at bottom of gas tank) and runs to the intake manifold, which is the thing coming from the carb to the engine (no offence but i hope you know what that is). This tube applys a vaccume to the fuel valve which allows fuel to flow into the carb.
6. I use gas, works pretty much the same i think, ask around.
7. Choke assembly (assy) is explained in #3
8. The main jet is in the carb and is in the metal tube that comes down towards the bowl (bottom half) of the carb, the main jet (if you take it out with a flathead screwdriver) should be clean and you should be able to see light through the small hole that it has (don't make the hole bigger).
9. Shown in manual
10. This i think is the same thing as the float valve, but i am not sure.
11. I think this is a nice drink...don't know why it is in there...
12. On the carb it is the black rubber lining that resides in the edges of carb, shown in manual above the bowl (bottom half of the carb).
13. An o-ring is another type of gasket and is used on the choke, along with the plastic thing that goes between the carb and the intake manifold.
14. That is the thing that hold the choke (bystarter) down, shown in manual.
15. Not sure.

Hope that helps at least a little, most of these things are shown in the manual (should be a big hint to DOWNLOAD IT).

take your bike to the shop... if you dont know the carburetor from the airbox, you shouldnt even take a screwdriver near the thing... no offense

I gotta agree with al...not everyone can work on these things and thats ok if you cant. If you take it to a shop try to find someone you know that may give you a break on the price. Most of us here arent afraid to screw crap up so thats why we work on them. Practice makes perfect..if you have the patience. Good luck!!

well i made an appointment at a scooter place. Im gonna role the d*** thing all the way there cause i dont have a car or anyone to take me. The guy said he would take a look and call me back with an estimate. I think ill post what he wants to charge me for the work that hes doing. its really a bother though cause i bought the scooter 2 days ago for the high price of 500(CAN). something like 400US.
I would like to learn how to do all this stuff though and not have to take it to a pro every time the freaking fuse blows or whatever...

How do i clean the fuse?
