My spree used to go about 33 a week ago but since then I drained the gas, loaded it into my car and moved it 350 miles. After cleaning the carb and retuning it, I can only get it to go about 27 tops. Anyone have any advice? I tried to search but couldnt find anything, Im sorry if I missed something.

I'd look for something like a disconnected vacuum line or vacuum leak. Is the exhaust still tight?

Where about are the most crucial vacuum lines? Im pretty new to tearing these things down and finding out what goes where. I know about vacuum lines just not where each one is on the spree. Im pretty sure the exhaust is still tight but I will check it in a little bit.
I also dont know much about tuning it since I never really messed with it before and it ran fine, then i moved it and it needed to be tuned. The screw with the spring on the outside, i think its the throttle screw is almost all the way in and the other one is about at factory settings of 1 1/2 turn out. Does that sound about right?
Thanks guys!

Ah, no, it does not. Your idle jet (lower one) should be 1 7/8 turns out. Throttle idle screw stop (highest, with spring) should not be "all the way in," it should be about 1 1/2 turns out, but whatever is working for you is fine.
There's only one vacuum line, on the intake manifold going to the tank.
Also, when you put the carb back on, did you get the little plastic part in right? If you did, there will be a little arrow on the outside of it pointing towards the front of the bike. If not, it won't, and your o-rings will be touching. This causes a slight vacuum leak and lowers top speed.

Was there an elevation change? I know when I moved from Denver to Maryland I had to mess with my old moped to get it running correctly.

no elevation change really, northern WI to a Chicago suburb. I will check the plastic piece with the arrow today and let you know. Thanks for all the help so far guys!

I think i may have found the problem, I dont know the exact name for it but the smaller part of the carb that the vacuum line goes into. Its seperated from the actual carb by a gasket with o-ring seals. Anyways one of the two bolts has stripped a little, therefore not tightening all the way. Could this be my issue??? Sounds like it could be to me please advise!!

yes it could be the issue since it would be considered as a vacuum leak. Just find a longer bolt with a nut and do it that way.

Ok i was testing it and I found out that was the problem by tightening it the best i could, then riding it and it would go about 31 then when it would rattle loose the top speed would lower to about 25 again. So I fixed that and now it wont even get to 25 again, I really just dont know fellas I need some help.
