Stumbled over a Gyro S

So I bought it. Previous owner said it needed a stator so when I saw it running great I knew the 275 was well worth the price and he had no clue. New battery for $25 and its a good runner and takes this 300 pounder all the way to 35 mph. It has under 1000 miles but the carb is a bit finicky. Turns out it doesn't like being tipped over (who knew my one year old could release the parking brake) and it spews gas out the overflow, thorough cleaning didn't really help any. Anywho, I am in the market to rebuild the carb and while I am looking I see a whole carb on ebay for under thirty dollars.
Looking for expert opinions on this. Pull the trigger or rebuild the keihen? Ebay Carb
Also up for consideration are rear tires. Mine are a bit weather-checked and I think something on this page would fit the bill. 6 inch Pocket bike tires
