2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T vs 2012 Agility?

Hello. I know this is a Honda site, but since you seem to have alot of background, I thought I would inquire of those on this site to see if they had any knowledge of the two scooters I am looking into.

A local dealer just got some 2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T and is selling them for $999. They seem to have 8-12k miles.

I understand the liquid cooled is a good thing. However, I am concerned about the 30 day warranty and the mileage when compared to a new agility with 2 year and well, low to no miles.

What are some of the things I should weigh?

Is the 2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T a much faster scooter?

Any input would be appreciated.

The super 9 is wayyy faster out the box.. They are nice if you ask me.. Is the agility 2t? They make a 4 and 2 stroke version.. Also 110 or 125cc 4 stroke agility also..The super 9 has a lot bigger list of aftermarket parts compared to the agility also..id go super 9.. That price is a little steep if you ask me.. Super 9's are all over here.. They sound beautiful when modded too.. If the 2t breaks its alot easier and less headache to fix

Super 9 all the way.
But $1k with that many miles and no upgrades??? :nervous: $300 too high IMO ...

I just bought the 4T agility yesterday 2007 screaming deal...heading to the scoot store and will report back plus vs minus.
(it's sooo much slower than my 2004 people 50 2t ... (both stock)

The agility is a 50cc. And as far as I can tell, Kymco only has the 4t 50cc for 2012, right?

As far as the cost, I'd be more comfortable if it were lower too. However, CT is dry when it comes to used scooters here.....

My primary purpose of getting a scooter is transportation (35-45mph) and gas mileage compared to my Pathfinder. Obviously, if I had the Super 9 LQ, I'd enjoy the performance as well. But I'm trying to keep in mind my main purpose.....

Here's another vote for the Kymco but also another vote on it being overpriced.
I'd haggle with the seller to get the price down or at the very least extend the warranty.

If they can't do either, I'd walk away and find another.

Get the 4t then.. Better mileage an will do the 35-40. Just not as quick as the 2t

Hmm. your post got me thinking... the op didn't mention the price of the Agility. This should be taken into consideration.
Perhaps the question to ask is, "what are you looking to get? or What is your main concern? warranty? price? top speed?
What kind of speed limits will the roads that you frequent have?
Will you be doing some wrenching and installation of aftermarket parts?
What is your top mph speed goal?

See if you can take a test ride of the Agility and evaluate how it meets your needs (I gave you some questions above to consider ;) ). If it does then, yeah go buy the Agility instead. 4T isn't all that bad. They still get the job done (get you from point A to point B). :)

2007 bought yesterday with 2400 miles
starts fine, takes a loooong stretch to hit 30 mph and tops at 31
seller admitted no maintenance except for new battery...

Well back from the scoot shop...owner of multiple stores was there (straight forward guy).
He sells alot of Kymcos ... for many years ... but does not sell this 4T 50 as it's just too slow.

ZX, Super 9, Vitality, or People ....

GL!

.... and following his advise to sell this one, should be ahead to put some $ to my Jog....

The asking price for the 50cc 4t agility is 1399 plus the taxes and delivery etc. Before taxes, the dealer had one blue one left and was going to sell it for $1,424

Am I correct in thinking that I would need to modify the restricted CDI, swap out the Boss for a non restricted one and change the roller weights to get better performance?

I do not think I will end up installing a BBK for it.

Are there other mods I could do to bring me closer to my performance goals other than the ones listed? As an example, are there performance exhaust for this make and do they really help?

I am not concerned with up hill performance. (I am used to riding my Spree btw. So anything should be an improvement in performance....I hope.)

I am looking for 35 - 4- mph with ability to possibly hit slightly higher when needed for short spurts.

I am looking for good mileage as well.

I also want reliability as this is an investment in transportation primarily, then fun/toy as second reason. Thus, I liked the idea of a new scoot with Kymco's 2 year warranty.

BUT, I do like the LQ 50cc 2t of the Super 9....
