Throttle Problem

Wel, my 84 Spree ran great for 6 months, and I thought all the issues were fixed. I went out this morning and the throttle was REALLY hard to turn, like it didn't want to move at all. Well, I tried turning it again, and it came loose, but too loose.....

The throttle has no snap back when released and no resistance at all when I try roll the throttle.

Needless to mention, I couldn't get her to start this morning, making me late for work and SUPER * off...

Anyone know what just happened or what's going on?

PS-I try to move the throttle manually, by pulling on the throttle cable under the handle bars, you know, the little exposed part that can move, and it wouldn't move at all.
I just got her painted and put back together, and now it's messed up.

I NEED HELP!

Mine did something like that once. It was after I reassembled my carb and attached it to the bike. Turned out I just put the cable in wrong. So I took it apart and put it back correctly and then it was good

Sounds like what always happens when you use brute force on a stick item. You broke something.

Did you have the cable out of the carb recently? Sounds like a broken cable or the throttle valve is jammed in the carb.
