86 Spree Exhaust - Glass Packed??

Greetings

I have been reading many many threads about cleaning out the exhaust. Yes there is Cut and Weld, Bonfire, Lye, Torch and Hammer, etc.

A couple of posts had questions that really did not seem to get answered.

If I understand correctly - Iowa exhausts were glass packed where everywhere else they were not.

I hope this is true. I have just been given an offer from an engine builder to soak it in their Hot Tank. Although there are no presenting problems, I figured it would be nice to clean it inside and out before repainting.
