Half throttle bog?

2000 honda dio AF18E japan edition
Keihin PB carb #95 jet (also #92 on hand)
KMS R1 pipe (for 50cc~72cc)
Uni filter (well oiled)
Needle on second notch up from bottom, also tried first notch (very bottom)
Keli Variator currently with 9gram rollers (tried 8's and 7's but loving the 9's)
New bando belt
9.8:1 gears

The thing works great at WOT. But only at WOT. At WOT it goes 75km/h on flat. If i hold the throttle at half it bogs, bogs, bogs, dies, bogs, dies... continues running but have to go back to WOT to get speed. I know plug chops work after WOT for a distance then kill switch- and it is nice cardboard brown. Can I do a plug chop with the wheel in the air and spinning like crazy at half throttle? It is the needle that should affect the mid range but I am afraid of going up as it sounds like it is running out of gas... and being that it is already warm and moving I don't know if it could be flooded this easily at this mid throttle so have avoided going further up on the needle. Most all bog topics I read are at WOT and I can't find any topics on bogs at half throttle with great running at WOT. Anyone of you scoot scoots have a suggestion?

I should also add it idles great, starts with one kick. When the throttle is opened up it gains speed smoothly and the engine purrs up to speed. If it is held at half throttle it runs great up till it maxes for throttle positioning then starts to bog and sound like its ready to die although it doesn't. If held WOT smooth running and good pick up all the way to full speed. If I then let off to half throttle and hold it there then bogging. Man, the insanity!!!!

Put needle up... Much worse bog. Put back to bottom, better. Tried wrapping unifilter in cloth to lower air intake- no diffrence. Tuning of carb-a-tooter seems better. Maybe I just suck at air/fuel mix setting

Moving the needle up, making the motor richer, means moving the clip down. So the bottom notch is the richest setting and the top notch is the leanest setting.

Irregardless, you need to look at the plug after a 1/2 throttle run after the engine dies. That will tell whether the engine is too lean or too rich. Adjusting anything without know which way to adjust is futile.

Good info... Checked float and needle while switching main jet.. My plug is new but hard to read- only half the plug has anything on it and it is tan. Went around the block chopped at half throttle, same reading as WOT- tan. Hmm. Yup . I can almost deal
with it. And just rained here today

In most cases if only half the plug is showing any coloring, the motor is too lean. Only the intake side is showing color in these cases.

So maybe go to a #100 jet? Thought that would be way too rich from other posts with similar setup running 88's and 95's. Lean.... Not good. Hmm. Okay thanks bear last run to beer store tonight and will wait for richness. Thought that plug was trying to say something
