I got the new Aero running... but driving it, not so hot

I bought a new Aero and posted about it over in the general discussion forums. Today I got the Aero running, without much work, certainly less than the Spree (that had a bad carburetor).
The aero does not have an air filter in place as of now - in case this helps with the troubleshooting.
The issues are:
1) The rear wheel does not roll when the engine is off. It feels like I am turning the engine (but I don't hear it turning over), and when moving across grass it just slides.
2) This thing accelerates like CRAZY up to about 10mph (pops a wheelie almost everytime, even when being easy) and then the engine slows down and we idle along up to 20mph where it stops accelerating.
Do you guys have any suggestions as to what I could do here?
Also, what is the largest tire I can run on the Aero? Stock is 2.75x10

Can't believe I'm the first in on this, but:
You need an air filter!
Don't run it any longer until you get one. This is very important and you could seriously damage the engine if you don't.
Check here or on eBay and get a Honda filter and air box if you don't have one. You might want an aftermarket filter if you do some mods down the line, but stick with stock for now.

Yes, I know about the need for the filter.
Are you suggesting that is going to cure the locked up rear wheel?

Im just guessing here, but maybe you should look into the rear brake to see if it's in need of adjustment/other work?

check your clutch and make sure it will open to allow the belt to slip in. it sounds as if its not opening all the way. and while your back there check your brakes they could be rusty and sticking.

i would suspect a stuck brake cable or stuck rear brake in general.

Forget checking the brakes. This is obviouly a clutch issue. If it was the brake the scoot wouldn't do 20 mph with the throttle closed.

that is true, if the clutch is stuck in its engaged state, when turning the wheel you would be turning over the entire engine.
