Waldo teen injured in mo-ped crash
A 16-year-old Waldo youth was hospitalized after he injured his head in a mo-ped crash at 2:32 p.m. Friday in the Oostburg High School parking lot at 410 New York Ave., police said.
Justin W. Kaat, of N3194 Mill Road, was taken to Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after he was thrown from his 1986 Honda Spree, said Sgt. Chad Broeren of the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department.
Kaat was driving the mo-ped at 25 mph and pulled up on the handlebars in an attempt to get the vehicle to jump a 2-foot decline in the grade of the parking lot, Broeren said. Kaat, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown over the handlebars and landed on the pavement, Broeren said.
Kaat was cited for reckless driving, Broeren said.
