Hi all. My se50 has a #82 main jet, according to the service manual it should have a #85, how bad would this thing run? I have a large paper air filter (didnt come with an airbox) It does run and idle, bogs a little while it warms up, but idles ok but runs a little eratic, Any ideas folks?

The jet alone might make for slow warm-ups and maybe some hiccups in operation. The jet plus a non-stock filter could certainly explain a lot of misbehavior. There's no way to know the airflow resistance through that paper filter, but presuming it's less restrictive than the airbox+oiled foam, there'd be a double-whammy of increased air draw and too skinny fuel flow. Lean conditions can do far worse than stumbly running. They can fry a cylinder.

I recommend you check that spark plug for Extreme Pallor. Anything lighter than cardboard would stop me from trying to ride it again until an 85 - or better still an 88 was safely installed. Honda Part Number 99101-187-0880. Call the Dealer and read that part number to to the PartsDude. My Dealer can order and receive in 2 days. I'd call today.

The paper element I'm using is a large crankcase breather. Also I noticed now my vacuum line from the petcock has fuel in it. Can I just put a manual petcock on it and be done with that issue?

yes you can but you'll want to place it where you can shut it off at night or extended periods.
