I forgot to mention that I do sometimes wear one depending on where I'm going.

I wear one because id like my brain to stay in place if i wipe out. Also, i don't like bugs in my face, since we have some huge ones where i live. Ever seen a dragonfly smack into a helmet visor? Its not nice and would suck to have hit your face.

I wear all time helmet on my way.

I don't wear a helmet for the 2 block ride to the corner station but I do wear a helmet more on longer trips or offroad.

Full face helmet and gloves- Road rash sucks.

Walmart has a nice set of gloves with armor on the knuckles and palms.

when it gets cold, i wear my full face simpson helmet (complete with hans device hookups, WAAAY overkill, literally a nascar spec helmet), and on longer solo rides i wear my (DOT approved) brain bucket. aside from that, i like to feel the breeze flowing through my 1/16 inch of hair, and i like * off the "real" biker guys who WISH they didn't have to wear a helmet. around town, i just ride cautiously, and when travelling in a pack... safty in numbers.

i suppose the faster my scoot gets, the more often i'll wear one.

i wear a helmet because i have to but i would wear one either way helmets save lives and your head and face

I don't but recenly bought one, so yes i will when i feel like it.

I wear one because I barely trust myself on my scoot, and I surely don't trust anyone else on the road.
Another tip for city riding:
If you'd take that route in a car, you need a different route for the scooter.
example: I have a nice lil sporty car, it goes fast, I drive it fast. I have a lil lil scooter that takes off slow and barely tops the posted speed limit around town. I'd surely not want to be driving behind me on the scooter if it were me in the car...so that route I barely take in the car because of the slowness and excessive stop signs is my de facto scooter route.
Now, after the winter big bore project, I may alter this, but I still trust no other drivers.

I live in a helmet-law state, so I really don't have a choice, however even when in non-helmet law states, I always wear a helmet. I had a friend killed in an otherwise walk-away accident this year because his helmet was strapped to his back seat, and I had another friend spend 3 days in ICU after _breaking_ his helmet in a high-side. He is fine now (well, as fine as he was b/4) but would have been dead without.

It's your choice; I choose to value my brain-case.

We're not required to wear one over age 18 in MI, but I do occasionally. If I just zip to the store (quarter mile or less) I don't bother, but if I hit up Bay road (one of the busiest roads in Saginaw) I wouldn't be caught dead without it. People get hit out there too many times.

Its always the short little trips that f*** you up. My dad wrecked his CB500 four on a short trip around the block, he hit some gravel and the bike tore him up pretty good(I don't think he owned/was wearing his leather at the time), he could have bled to death. Luckily he was wearing a helmet and managed to walk to help instead of bleeding out unconscious.

I ALWAYS wear a full face helmet.
