I got the boost bottle to work! I used an m&ms mini bottle and I also put in new springs in the clutch. WAY more low end power, still have to tweak the carb and i'll update on the high end speed but WOW!
Pics soon!

did you do both at the same time?
if so put the stock spring in the carb, let us know the difference that just the boost bottle makes.

when I first put the thing together it had the stock springs. and it still made a big difference. but after i put the springs in, the d*** thing wants to do wheelies! the springs are the blue ones that i got from my local vespa dealer for $5. they fit perfectly.

Here's a basic question: what are ppl using to pull apart their clutches? I've never tried doing this before but it looks like you need a special tool to compress the clutch spring to disassemble and reassemble.

i did it with a 2 bolts to hold it so it would not move and got the nut off and used a vise to hold the cluch together. and take the nut off of that

I used a pair of vise grips. held the clutch *. in my hand and gave a wack on my concrete floor. that loosened the nut. then I held the clutch compressed and took the nut the rest of the way off. let the clutch decopress slowly or it will come flying off. assembly is a little bit tricky but not impossable. just be calm about it and take your time.

Thanks for the info on the clutch. I'll see what I can come up with. Don't feel like buying (or making) yet another cycle tool.
I want pics too. Use Vette's site or email them to me.

how would a boost bottle make your engine go kaboom? that doesn't make too much sense to me. All a boost bottle does is store atomized air/fuel mixture that has not been burnt so when you hit the gas again you don't have to wait so long to get fuel to the engine. also that other coment about boost bottles ruening your fuel economy has got to be false. you should actually get better fuel economy because you are scavaging your unused fuel in the bottle insted of it going to waste.
I'm no expert on this but these are my thoughts after doing much research.

The only risk I see is that if you're jerry-rigging fittings, rubber hose, and candy containers together to build a resonator, the chances of creating a lean operating condition and burning a piston seem pretty good without due care. In other words, if it leaks you might lean out and burn up the engine.
The M&M container was sized for 25cc goped engines, as I recall. I'm surprized that this volume would work on 50cc scoots.

I don't have a digital camera to show you the pics anymore. someone broke inn my house and stole it!
I cantell you that the bottle did work but it leaks and I had to take it off.
I was too scare of ruining my engine. I would like to try the coil mod though.
