Question. For those that have the bore kit for the spree have you gained any top end, or has it just been acceleration? if you have gained top end, how fast has your spree been going? Just wanted to compare to what i have been getting.

thanks

Mike.

One day you are riding along, wind in your face, then all of a sudden DUUURRRRR, dead bike.
It'll probably start after a 15 min smoke break.

Smoke break? Me or the bike. I understand.

In the automotive, when you have an overheat that bad, there is enough damage to the rings, (losing tension) that although it may restart after much longer than a smoke break, it's time for a teardown. How many times can a scooter soft seize before a teardown and rebuild? I know that's hypothetical, but I just imagine any soft seize will take part of its life. Kinda like a cardiovascular attack. You may live, but there's damage and decreased strength and life span.

I soft seized my stock bore 15+ times.

Sure there was lots of blowby past the rings, and the piston/cylinder were bumpy like a golf ball, but it still ran.

I wouldn't recommend trying that with an aftermarket bore though. I've seen deep score marks on the first seize. You could probably ruin a stock bore with 1 seize, but nobody cares about stock so that's OK.

You can usually soft seize a big bore no more than three times usually. That is my experience with all the big bore kits. and believe me I have installed a ton of em.

If anybody wants one of these bore kits, I've got one I'll let go pretty cheap.

Marc, got the 50mm jug/piston on the Elite Dio tonight. Man does it have the compression. You should sell heavy duty batteries to go with it. It fired and ran few seconds without fuel tank hooked up, just what was in carb. It's going to be a gutsy one.

Electric starters are like air filters and clutch covers... Who needs em?

Just ordered the big bore for my spree should i go ahead and order the #95 jet or will it be included in my kit. Also are there any other mods i can do to further increase the performance of the big bore.

If you ordered it from Tazland (I think he's the only one with Spree kit), he will send you a 95 or 100. Communicate with Marc to make sure. He's approachable. He sent me 3 because I asked for an extra for my Polini, plus the 2 kits I bought from him.
