Hey Bear, I tightened it all the way down, then to the left 1 7/8 of a turn. I noticed the manual says 1 1/4 i think, but i just followed the wikispree. You sayin I should turn the air mix screw to the right a lil bit?

Actually the turns listed in the manual are only a STARTING POINT! After the motor warms up, adjust the idle mixture screw for the HIGHEST RPM possible. Then you adjust the idle SPEED SCREW for 1800 RPM.

my dash doesn't show rpm, i just looked up a couple 2 stroke digital tachometers, and they are lookin kind of expensive. Not tryna spend 50-100 bucks, for that i can just a mechanic do it. Is there an easier way to do this? What the norm settings for a 85 Aero 50 if the manual is just the starting point? If you guys kno, it could save me on buying the tach.

Yea, i think you're right bear. Scooter is still starting right up, i'm off tomorrow so i'll probably take the fairing off and get a richer mixture going tomorrow. I did go ahead and order that tachometer that you recommended. It seems pretty simple. All i have to do is wrap that red wire from the tach around the spark plug wire, and i assume the tach works off a battery of some sort. Is it really just that simple? No cutting or ghetto rigging required?

Ok, so im running i nice rich mix right now, and the bike is running super smooth. The only issue now is the speed, for some reason its topping out at 34-35 mph, before it would go up to 40 no problem. It also takes a while to hit that 35. Is this my new air mix setting that is slowing her down? How do i get the speed back up to 40? Most roads in my area is a 40 mph speed limit.

After some fine tuning, my bike runs better than ever. Hits 40 mph no problem. Just wanted to thank everyone who helped out.
