Oh do I love the assemblage or a project!
Where did you order that block-off plug from? Price?

OK finally got the beast running!
At about half throttle I'm getting to 40 with my 280 lbs * on it. Break in should be a few hundred miles correct?
Don't have a CHT guage at the moment but I am touching the engine shroud with my finger and its not running too hot @ all.
I have to run without the filter or the engine bogs and dies down. I'm running 105 main in the PB carb. Ran around the block a few times and checked the plug. I'm getting a chocolate brown color. Maybe a little rich but better than lean. Will I run into problems running a filterless carb besides the dirty issue?
What's the next step for me?

get it to run with the filter! fine dust particles will kill a new bore, especially if something big gets sucked in! sounds rich if putting the filter on kills it...other than that, did you port match the case, especially the boost port? that makes a huge difference on the af05e...

I didnt port match the cases

Will this kill my bore?
Just dropped the Big Bore onto the stock motor.
I'll head to the dealer and pick up a Uni filter. I notched the needle at the richest setting so I should have some room to adjust.
My cone style filter element seems to be too thick for the carbs taste.
Any other suggestions greatly appreciated
