 My target speed for my polini is 70. The actual purpose is to achieve 55mph at part throttle. This winter it is getting ripped apart and re-done. polini-for-ruckus variator, polini clutch, zx trans, 6.9:1 primary gears, possibly some 9.8:1 secondaries, etc.

:| This is not going to be a cheap spree. :ndance:

OH! and here's some pics of my new rear rim and 90/90 bridgestone hoop.

Well, after a long hiatus my spree has finally taken a step closer to completion. My Malossi bore recently arrived.

(3rd from the left, between Kryptonite's 44mm bore from the mini-stroke 70cc project and the bore with possibly the most storied forum history, the former Nik bore of Wheelman, followed by redspree, now in the hands of Trafficjamz)

Anyway, I'd been talking about doing a Polini Corsa for quite some time, and now that the funding is in play there are no less than three polini 72cc Dio engines already built in the shop. (One is in the background of the photo.) As I planned to carve up the Corsa anyway, I saved some money, took a leap of faith, and ordered the cast iron Malossi.

The only major differences in outward apperance is that the Malossi has 1 more cooling fin and a larger boost port than a polini. 7, as opposed to 6.

Lucky 7?

The exhaust port has room for improvement, but I am planning on playing with the ports anyway.

I am a very satisfied customer. :thumbwink:

Hey with that giant tire can you fit the stock spree brake light assembly on the back of those plastics?
It looks like its nearly rubbing on everything its next to haha

 The tail light assembly will defiantly not fit. I'm using a broken one cut down for my needs.

The tire does not rub anywhere else. If it did I would modify it to not. :geekdance:

It would also be notable that only one side panel has been fitted (poorly) . I've never ridden it anywhere with the rear plastics on, as I need to finish the engine and frame being stuffed under the plastics first.

Currently the bike is in a box, torn down to the smallest of components.
:geekdance: I have an 87 Elite 50 speedo for it. :ndance:

The frame will be gusseted along with a possible low top bar, as to maintain the step through nature of the vehicle.

I'm not too sore about losing the lower 2/3 of my tail light, it's not like the light is on that part anyway...

Yeah too true, that's pretty cool anyhow.
Is it possible to fit the rear plastics on over that rear tire and engine?
Cause what I was thinking was using some sheet metal extensions for where the plastics mount to the frame if they don't.
Sweet looking spree!

The intake and carb of the dio are the real challenge to fit, the CT is out of the question with unmodified plastics. I think a stock setup could possiblyfit, but i doubt it. For the closest to stock looking engine swap on a spree, the variated af05e is a good option, but it has more tuning limitations.

This build is about going 70 on a spree. I do really like the way the paint scheme looks, I'll probably go with a similar scheme for the final product, but it was honestly just painted with some leftover paint to cover the horrible peeled gloss black/ teal it was when I got it.

Ah man well I really hope you don't have to cut into those plasticis!! I'm doin the af16 swap deal too, but with a smaller tire and want to keep it looking as stock as possible. And I really don't want to cut into them. I remember seeing a pic on here where someone did cut a chunk out of the lower left plastic to fit their carb and mani and I bet it was real function, but it didn't look the best. More thoughts and things to think about and figure out

UPDATE:

The frame is nearing completion! I added two gussets to the frame to stiffen it without adding a knee-knocking top bar.
