I have a 20 and 25 slow jet I could try, but I'll do that after I see if it bogs in the scenario you described. Also, I'm 700 feet above sea level. Bakaracer, what if it doesn't bog, would you say the slow jet is right?

The carb is letting a trickle of fuel come out of the fuel overflow tube. I'm guessing I have to adjust the float level?

Dang, I specified the PG short, and vtcycles sent me the typhoon. Is there a massive difference in performance?
I haven't tried the pg short as those was sold around 4 years ago and never got sold again.they brought in the pg longs but no shorts so I couldn't tell you the difference.but the pg long does flow better than the pg typhoon because I had to down jet from the pg long to the typhoon and the rpm is much lower.the pg long hits around 9700-10200 where the typhoon hits around 9200-9500 but torque is slightly less with the typhoon but still hard.

I put in a 20 slow jet and 165 main jet today, and it sounded a lot meaner/louder. Thanks for the advice Bakaracer.

Also, I checked the plug. It was brown, but not oily by any means. So, how many heat cycles should I do with it on the center stand? I've already done three.

While I had the carb open, I also adjusted the float valve. I still have fuel coming out the drain tube, but not nearly as bad as before.

you might have to go up more on the pilot.I had a 22.5 with a airbox so open filter maybe 25 or 27.5 maybe even higher.

I'm going to put in a 35 tomorrow and see how it goes.

don't forget to drop the main as the pilot overlaps into the main

So what do you suggest, drop the 165 main to 160?

the typhoon is a good economical pipe .. the short is an alright pipe .. both pipes the rev comes in earlier than a long.. if you want total performance get the long... if you want no guts and all glory go jad/scorpion .. power increase is big on the jad/scorpion...

gps on a stock corsa with a typhoon produced 58.2 with a long 61.8.. with 8:4:1 gears with a 250# rider..

I love this forum, always some knowledgeable and respected guys giving advice. 8)

Jay, is using a Malossi chamber pipe a waste of time on the cast iron kit I'm running?

Mikuni CT Fit Issue

Greetings:

I seem to recall you're using a TM24 with a Stage6 intake?

Playing with my PWK tonight I noticed how tightly it Pops into the rubber CT spigot. Not so the Mikuni' which now seems quite loose by comparison. With both carbs off. Noticed the reason. The Mik spigot is only 32mm to the Keihin's 35.

I have a sinking feeling that my carb might have been loose in the mount. That would explain the heat spikes and soft seizes after the initial assembly - hitting bumps. Just so you know to pay close attention to this.

how does the 165 run now with the 20 pilot?

It ran great, but that is with it on the centerstand with me doing steady 1/4 throttle blips. I even did 1/3 throttle for the briefest of moments, and no hiccup.
