well without any oil in the filter dirt will be able to get through and go where you don't want it..I'm not sure on the rest.

When I over oiled my filter I squeezed out as much as I could then did the same thing under warm water which brought out more in a gunky form. After I couldn't get anymore out this way I got a washcloth and folded it over the filter and stepped on it to get the water and any more excess oil. let it dry out in the sun for a short time and after a 3 mile ride it rode like normal

But wouldn't doing all that mean that there's basically no oil in the filter left?

I'm not completely sure..but then again if it still has oil residue in it so it has to have some oil in it..I don't know how to say it

Well I rode it today and it was still the same cutting out problem. Then, I decided to put the filter in the sun for about 20 minutes, maybe to dry out. I also was sick of having a dead (almost) battery so I helped it by putting the bike charging for about 30-45 minutes. I went for a ride with those 2 things done and there was a difference - it seemed to not cut out as much, and if it did get bad it took a lot less time to recover from it to where I could go fast again. The problem is, I don't know what did it. Drying out the filter, or charging the battery?

Bah. I dried the filter out for another 20 odd minutes and tried to squeeze it out. I didn't charge the battery. When I rode there was pretty much no improvement. :x

Yeah, but If I run it at full throttle and it cuts out the engine dies. Also, the scooter's not registered yet so there is no real place that I can run it at full throttle for one mile. I ordered a REAL air filter a few days ago, when that comes we'll see what's up.
