Layed NQ50 over

Post by scooby26t »

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I layed my scooter over. Now since that has happened the scooter runs fine untill it gets warmed up. After that it dies. It also stutters after you start going down the road. Can anyone give me odeas on how to fix this problem I would like to get it back on the road. Summertime is comming. THANKS

I layed it over on to the left side. You know I did not even think to look at the aircleaner pipe. I will look tonight and see if that is the problem. I will let you know.

You need to pull and clean the carb, sounds like a dirty idle jet.

Ok cleaned the carb and now it will not stay running under throttle. I tried to clean the carb again and it does the same thing. As soon as you give it any type of throttle it dies. HELP.

Yep, use Dacs guide.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

I can't find the post, but pay close attention to the small hole in the carb bowl and make sure it's clear. If you layed it down and dis-logged a small piece of whatever it can clog that hole easy. Take bowl in a dark room and shine flashlight down the "tube" in the bowl and see if you can see a small light in the bowl. You can use a wire from a wire brush to clear it, that's how small it is. But...i'm not sure if this affects idle, maybe someone could chime in and clarify it.

If it now idles but is dying on throttle, you have a break in the airbox somewhere. They do this when either the airbox is disconnected, or the main jet is blocked, OR if you have a bad vacuum leak.

Tear the intake side down to the reedblock.Maybe you cracked your manifold. also check the exhaust system.
