Check the pickup for a pulse at the cdi plug, that would tell yo its the cdi by process of elimination, the cdi (as far as i know) has power in, power out, ground, and trigger, not sure what wire is what but if you set the trigger pin high and then low (apply 12vdc to it for a split second) it should fire the coil.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

this happened to me. I was cranking it over to check how good the spark was, grounding it to the cylinder head. Turns out, the electrical components don't like that.

So, I tried a different plug, nothing. Then the plug wire, nothing. Then the coil, nothing. Then a CDI, nothing.

Checked the manual for resistance values for all the electrical components and the stator was out of range. Bought a used one with the right resistance, and I was back in business.

Don't do what i did and start buying parts and trying them. For the same amount of time, I could have troubleshot the problem, saved myself $150, all in less time than swapping out parts in the hopes that it will fire up.

If you have gone through and checked the resistance of all the associated components and they are good, replace the CDI. Just make sure you rule out everything else first.

Good luck
