back to the garage

Post by austen »

Ahhh, I started my elite project a few weeks ago, ripped off all the panels, lights, etc. Sanded all the panels, painted them black. Turned out alright, I liked it pretty much. I went to ride it around my driveway today, kinda just mess around. I wasn't real satisfied with everything I did. A lot of the tabs are gone for the panels, so I tightly zip tied a lot of them on. You can't see them. Plus, I didn't really take the time to rip apart the motor and everything, its running really rich.

So, I'm going to rip it all apart again, and start fresh. Sand everything, paint it more properly. Tune the engine, ETC.

List
*Rip panels off
*Tune the engine
*Sand the panels
*Paint the panels
*Take the time and make everything more efficient and proper
*Paint the rims
*Do something with the floorboard, cause its stained
*Wrap the seat in new material, cause its ALL ripped
*Somehow get a new speedometer, cause its broken
*Drill the exhaust (maybe) I heard the 87's pipes restrict a lot
*Get the automatic starter to work

I THINK thats it, maybe. Probably more. :D

Somethings I need some help with. Without spending money, what could I do to make the engine run better. Don't get me wrong, it runs GREAT, but when I romp on it, it gets a bit smoky in the rear :D its running rich.

Another thing is the exhaust. I'm not quite sure where to drill the exhaust/size bit, ETC.

Last but not least, the automatic starter! I'm not quite sure how to go about seeing whats wrong with the starter/why its not working. When I have the moped running, if you hit the START button. It dims the lights and you can here something make a noise under the seat.

WEESH, I think thats it.

Thanks, hahaha.

Why are you hitting the start button when the engine is already running???
