1995 50cc Elite Parts/Question

Post by II Tall »

I found a 95 50cc Elite to buy that runs but needs a few items if anyone can help:

The speedo doesn't work but he claims the odometer does, what's up with that? Looks like maybe I'll need a different guage cluster? It's missing a right rear turn lens, and the rear wheel is slightly bent.

Any ideas/parts?

Also, is it a good idea to pour a small amount of car carb cleaner into the gas tank to clean things up on this scooter? It feels like it could use it.
There is no such thing as a unique idea, just better uses of the old ones.

NO dont not use carb. cleaner in the gas. use SeaFoam, there is topics all around the site about how to use seafoam and what all it does.

Thanks. No, I don't own it yet and was just starting to investigate my options.

Any ideas for the parts?

Ya, I know, I've seem them. Honda parts from Honda are crazy.

Do you know if an '89 50cc Elite wheel with fit a '95? The part numbers are almost the same: 42650-GS7-980ZA ('95) / 42650-GS7-980ZB ('89)

i dont know ether, it seems like it but i could be off. seeing how one is 'ZA' and the other 'ZB' when the rest is 100% alike tells me there will be one difference. like number of threads or something like that. But to be fair im not sure.
