Gas milage

Post by lifecaptured »

Ok...thanks to the good help of the people off this forum, my hoopty (86 Spree) is running good, and I'm about to the point of leaving the screwdriver at home in lieu of any adjustments! Good times!!

My only question is, the tank holds .55 gallons...correct? At 80 miles to a gallon, I should be getting around 40 miles on a tank...I'm at about 21-23 miles and she's getting close to finishing up a tank. Is this still some adjustment error? I don't have the airfilter just yet, it should be arriving any day...once I get that and readjust, should I see some gain in MPG?

Thanks,
Josh

I hope you haven't run without the filter too long.. thats bad for your engine. but i think you should see some gain with it in.
projects galore :nerd:

learn how to do a plug chop running without a filter will get dirt in your engine and dirt in the engine will ruin it. Running without a filter will also cause the engine to run lean which will burn it up quickly.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
