As the subject line states, as part of the "cleaning" of the carb I unscrewed the throttle control body from the top of the carb and removed it.
After going to reinstall it, I lined up the cut in the side of the cylinder thingy (sorry forgot technical term) with the idle adjust screw and inserted it back into the carb. I then tightened the cap all the way down. Now, there doesn't seem to be a lot of play on my throttle handle, and when I fire up the bike, it revs to high RPMs.
I obviously did something wrong with reinstalling the throttle body, but I can't figure out what. It's simple, but obviously something is sticking or something is wrong.
Am I supposed to screw it back down all the way?
Did I install it wrong by lining up the groove/opening in the cylinder thingy with the idle screw?
Any tips on this would be much appreciate.

Well I removed the throttle body, and tried reinstalling it. It goes in easily, and the needle goes through the little tiny hole at the bottom, but the cylindrical thing itself goes in, mmm...maybe an 1/8th of an inch...
Is there a specific way I'm supposed to install the throttle body? Like groove (cut) facing outwards, lined up with the idle screw...and then what?

Make sure you are using the correct slot, there is a long one, and a short one. Use the long one.orgovsky wrote:Well I removed the throttle body, and tried reinstalling it. The "slash" on the bottom of the throttle slide should be facing the rear (air cleaner.)
