Honda Spree is bogging out...

Post by slowspree »

Heres the problem...my spree will not start unless I maually cover the carburator. Once it starts I get up to 20mph and it bogs out. It will reach a higher speed of close to 30 if i cover half the carb with my finger. Im thinking its the auto choke (bystarter) but am not sure├óÔé¼┬ªwhat do you all think???

Im thinking that if you can cover the carb with your hand, then you probably don't have the airbox on and its running lean.

Exactly. Not the smartest thing to do either.

In addition, I bet the idle jet's clogged from the description.

I have an airbox on, i was using it but that is when the engine was bogging so I moved the elbow over and covered the carb with my finger. If the bystarter is bad what are the symptoms?
