83 nh80 aero oko carb install

Post by joshjcomedy »

I have installed a ct intake with a 24mm oko carb. Due to work travel its not quite finished. Before I hooked up the lines I was wondering if anyone had pics of a similar if not same setup so I can use it as a visual reference. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey joshjcomedy :
While not the same set-up, mine utilizes a Mikuni instead of OKO.
AND mine is an Aero 125.
Still, the hose routing will be the same.
One hose from oil pump to inlet nipple on intake.
One hose from vacuum side of petcock to second inlet nipple on intake.
One hose from fuel side of petcock to fuel inlet on carburetor.
Note : the second inlet on the intake is sourced at any R/C hobby shop, comes in several diameters, and must be drilled and tapped into the intake. Took mine to a local machine shop and they fit it within 10 minutes for $5.
Below is a link to the thread where you can find a picture of my final set-up on page 7.

Hope this will help you...and all that useless hose from the original vacuum choke on Aero 80's can be ignored/blocked/pitched...since OKO will have manual choke.
With side-covers on the scooter, manual choke can be actuated by remote devices, either cable or lever.
Other members have accomplished this..I have chosen to run sans-cover on the left, so no problem.

Thank you so much! I was racking my brain around the single intake. Not too much brain obviously. Now yet another step. Off to find a hobby shop and someone who can tap that intake for me. Any particular spot on the intake necessary?
