Stripped bolt

Post by nwj67 »

This is another of my famous noob questions, but please bear with me. I have a stripped bolt/screw on my air filter cover.....It screws into a plastic hole......Any suggestions on how to fix this. I just notices the screw itself was half way out (rattled)....Thanks in advance!

maybe leave it out, the plastic is stripped, and you have other screws holding it on, its not like its gonna fall off

go with stainless steel, it's a softer metal but wont rust, and yes go bigger say from a 6/32 to 8/32
or you could go from coarse thread to fine thread in the same size.
