Spree graphics

Post by DickB »

Now that I've got it running, I've been fooling with different graphic designs for my 87 Spree. If the yellow vinyl matches, I'm leaning towards this one. It has a bit of that 80s look to it. Maybe I should add "25th Anniversary Edition"!

....Very sweet graphic concept... :thumbwink:
I see the addition of yellow grips being coup de grace (finishing "touch")....

Got 'er done

Post by DickB »

I like the way this turned out. I was thinking of doing something up front, but sometimes less is more, so I'm done. The headlight cover was a bit scratched up. I found that an Ace Hardware rattle can red matched fairly well. Look closely and you can see that the inner tube dust caps are a pair of dice. I initially thought that they were tacky and I would replace them, but what the heck - we'll see if anyone notices.

While the covers were off for the graphics I decided to clean the oil filter, although it turned out to be fine. So mechanically pretty much everything has been gone through and it's running well. All set for a road trip to NC next month.

This was a fun project. I'd get another one if I wasn't married or wanted to get a divorce.

Thanks. Hmm, haven't seen the weather report - did h e l l freeze over? She wants nothing to do with two-wheeled vehicles.

What you have done with this graphic [D ick B] is straight-up sharp... :thumbwink:
I would like to hear how this was created...can't tell if it is paint, sticker, voo-doo or what...
Your Spree is striking, I say work up a racing stripe for the front...sometime.... :urban:

Thanks. It's vinyl, cut using a Silhouette SD cutter, kinda like a printer with a blade. The software lets you import images and trace cut lines from them. For the Spree logo, I took a before photo of my scooter, cleaned up the image and fattened the lines a bit using a free drawing program paint.net, then imported to the Silhouette software.

A stripe for the front could look cool - we'll see.

Painting the tranny case red instead of the raw aluminum would look cool, too.
