Kick Start for 1985 Spree

Post by robrowald »

Ok this may be a dumb question but here it goes.

I have an 85 spree that is still stock, and I would like to add a kick start to it. Is it as simple as replacing the 85 cover with an 86 cover or are there more parts involved? I know the kick start requires the the kickstart gears and such, that are part of the cover but do i need to replace anything on the insides?

Thanks!

KICKSTART ADD ON

Post by DENMANSHAFFER »

THE OUTER HALF OF THE DRIVE GEAR NEEDS TO HAVE RAISED NOTCHES IN THE CENTER AREA FOR THE KICKSTARTER GEAR TO ENGAGE IT. IF YOURS IS NOT NOTCHED, IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED ALSO.
