MY NEW 1985 HONDA SPREE WITH 49 ORIGINAL MILES! ;-)

Post by HUDD1988 »

Hello,

Just purchased a mint condition 1985 Red Honda Spree.....I always wanted one and to find one with under a hundred miles it just plain good luck...Iam never this luck. A lil history behind the scooter ....The scooter was used only about 3weeks by a police dept. in 1985 to check dumpsters for violations and once the program was cancelled the lil scooter was just put a way for 26yrs  until the seller purchased it and put it up forsale. I plan on keeping it stock and cherry and miles under 100....have my eyes on an black 86 with less than 700miles for riding. Well after some reading on this forum first thing Iam doing is purchase new tires, new air filter, and fresh honda fluids. So what do you guys(girls) think? :woot:

Wow, great score dude and welcome to the forums! Your spree looks immaculate! As for your question about the rubber floor mat, the floor mat is a super-rare item to find these days, especially in the condition you are looking for to do your "new" spree justice! Absolutely beautiful... There are a few members here who do in fact have the floormat... But I can't remember who. These guys should chime in here soon!

Again, nice spree indeed! May I ask how much you paid for your jewel?

Later man, jon. :peace:

Thanks Mike,

My current plans are to give the scooter an A1 detail. Chance all "spring cleaning" suggested by forum member bear. Iam currently in the process of the purchase of two black 86 Sprees which also happen to be low miles. Those I will have fun with and ride. The 85 will maybe have 50 miles  by the end of this year. I plan on keeping the miles less than a 100 :nervous:....so I have 49 miles to play with :lock: Iam currently on the hunt for a mint floor board mat. Anyone willing to sell a mint condition floor board mat :geekdance:

Good luck with the floor mat. I've seen 1 since 1985 on a scooter and 1 on flea-bay and it went for something like $90. I did find one on the cheap for my Aero 50 for cheap but no one else bid on it. :surprise:

I was actually thinking that it was you, Bear-dude who had a NOS floormat for one of your sprees. Now I remember reading that your floormat find WAS an Aero floormat.

I bought a NOS Aero floormat on eBay a while back that the seller did not know which aero it fit. It was in the bag, so I could not see it clearly. It ended up being for an Aero 80... Dam.

If anybody needs an aero 80 floormat, shoot me a PM!

I'll be on the lookout for a great condition spree floormat for sure!

Awesome buy. I say ride it. It will never be worth much as it hasn't appreciated but $500 in 26 years. It deseves to be enjoyed and not locked away. Change out the speedo and keep the low mileage one. :naughty:

Had no fuel in it. was drained along time ago. Got a couple minot scratches from being moved in garage throught the years but nothing major. Came with alot of paperwork. Still has original tires on it with center flash and nubs, Also has Original battery with it's Box.
