I believe so. If you open it up don't forget to upjet the carb. the unrestricted model had a larger main. #78 according to bike bandits site.

have you done anyother mods to your SA50P? yea you can open up that hole, yes replace with a #78 jet. but if you are UNrestricting the sa50p you also need to grind out the washer in the exhaust. and while your at it remove the washer on the back of the variator.

There is also a small tube with a flanged end where the carb bolts to the intake mani. It restricts air and gas going to reeds.

I've never seen that tube. Do you have a pic by chance?

Hello,

The washer on the exhaust has been removed, installed SR oil pump w/ split throttle cable, bump needle clamp one notch, installed #85 main jet, running Keli variator w/ 9g weights, also went ahead and installed a SEF ramp plate.

This evening I drilled out the other air intake hole on the outer cover of the air box (thanks to the confirmation reply)

Thinking of doing a 9:1 gear change next to increase my top speed but will leave that discussion for a different thread.

Thanks,
Duder

Which way did you 'bump" the needle clip? up or down?

With out looking I am not 100% sure but my gut tells me I raised it up one notch. Please, let me know what is correct please.

Also, raising the clip will lean the mixture and lowering will richen it up correct?

Yes, raising the clip leans out the mid-range. Lowering the clip does the opposite.

You want to enrichen the mid-range not lean it out when you open the airbox up.
