What did you do for gears on yours? After all these post and reading more I think I am going to have to do a big bore kit I am just wondering about gearing?Wheelman-111 wrote:Greetings:
I usually agree with veedubh20, but not on this.
If you find a good AF16 block, it will cost a good bit of money. You already have a decent block. There's nothing much wrong with the 05, and plenty of mods available to make it a lusty 65cc. Mine was good for a GPS-verified 58.6 MPH in less-than-optimal conditions. I'm fairly confident it ran 60 on a couple of other occasions, just didn't have Garmin-Girl along for the ride.
Yes, an AF16 can be made much faster, but you don't have one of those. You DO have your 05 and the fun is in the modding anyway.
And don't worry, I have no plans of taking the stickers off and changing how it looks at all. To mint.

Re: New Elite SR
there should be a write up in tech docs. or hit the search button and look for afo5 gearing.... if you ran 9.1 gears and derestrict the motor you should be able to hit pretty close to 50mph stock might not take off as quick but will still make spree look slow....

Greetings:
Red Eft Performance is selling the Malossi 7.83:1 primaries. They were super-rare two years ago. Presuming it's not too late, spend the $92, or you may not get another chance.
Yeah, they suck for take-offs and won't be much fun on 50cc power, but the Slippery Slope of Modding awaits.

Okay,....met wheel is tubeless....why is that recommended ?.......trying to understand how that will improve top speed......or if it has advantage in balancing....or if it improves tire options....or what ...eliteguy50 wrote:Has anyone done 50 on a 92 afo5 without a bbk? i would say ruck vari with met wheel and 10.2 gears can run a solid 50mph. i dont think the stock engine has enough power to push up to 50.

It is irrelevant to top speed. It's because they can't figure out how to deal with inner tubes without punching holes in them.

Greetings:
The Met wheel is 2.15" wide. The Elites and Aeros are 1.85. When you mount a 90/90 to the latter, its profile ends up looking a little weird. Think "Light Bulb". Honda-san himself specifies the 2.15 for the standard 90/90s on his Met scooters. That's the correct size.
The 90/90 is also 3.18 "Tall" in profile, tire diameter 16.36") a significant-enough upgear over the 2.75. (Tire diameter 15.5')

Re: New Elite SR
Greetings:
Met wheel fits and works great on the SE/05 and SA/16 blocks. I think the rear Spree brake is smaller than 95mm on all the others, and the axle/spline count may be different. Even if the Met wheel hub fits, the biggest tire that (sorta) fits is a 3.00, for which the tubeless Met wheel might be a bit big.
