Why would you think anything is restricted?

I was gonna ask the same question just in case.. i will have to get a tach to check for restrictions i guess.. but a quick search on the forum shows Arnadanoob and Maddog talking about Dios being restricted.
I got an AF18E too.

Don't listen to anything * puddle puppy has to say.

As to Arnadanoob's claim, it is unsupported at this time. Do a part number comparison, the restricted box will have a different part number.

If the boxes have the same part number then they are the same and we know that all the other scooters are not restricted.

The 'real' Dio's have CDIs that will remove the rev-limiter. Malossi, Chameleon Factory, Posh, and Daytona are all companies that specifically make CDIs for the AF27, AF28, AF34, and AF35.

The AF27 and AF28 use different stock oem CDIs. Same thing applies to the AF34 and AF35. The AF28 and AF35 are the 'ZX' higher performance end models of the Dio line.

The most likely difference in the base vs. ZX model CDIs is the ZX has a higher built-in rpm limiter. Of course, you can get rid of the rev limiter by opting for an aftermarket CDI.

The simple answer to the OP is to buy aftermarket.

thank you-it was what i wantd to hear.
actually both the ci649 and the ci692 cdi are restricted but the first one is easier to deristrict.I found it on some russian forum how to restrict those but couldnt quite understand how to derestrict the ci692 so i asked it here.

Actually, which tuning cdi would you recommend for me? because i have seen many of those-some cost 9$ but some 30$.

I haven't tried any of the Taiwan or Chinese CDIs. Personally, I stick to the name brand stuff listed in my previous post.

Most engines, stock, are RPM-limited by intake/exhaust/porting. I won't even get into whether a "performance" CDI would even help your bike without other modifications.

Here's my official stance on performance CDIs: They're a waste of money. I'd love to see a legit one. As far as I can tell it's a bunch of smoke and mirrors:

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11438

Anyone that can prove me wrong, tell me now, as it's up on the Wiki as well.

If someone has a detailed list of the different OEM CDIs available through Honda with a top RPM limit list, I'd like to get that posted as well as legit aftermarket CDIs.

The jdm bikes need a aftermarket cdi for it to go faster. It doesn't have the exhaust and variator restrictions like the US models do.its the cdi that is restricted. The aftermarket cdi's do work. It has a ignition advance on it and some are adjustable.when you start fully modding the engine and put high rpm pipes on, that extra 1 to 1.5 deg of advance helps clear flats spots in the throttle responce.its for racing purpose so if your using it for street use then you can't tell the difference.if it didn't do anything, companies wouldn't make it or sell it.ITS FOR RACING ONLY SETUPS.
Nothing like getting stroked!
