mixed fuel in my gas tank.

Post by felospree »

hello guys I recently changed the piston and ring on my 86 spree. I read that you should run mixed fuel while breaking in the motor, I'm mixing 4oz of oil per every gallon of gasoline. I have a working oil pump supplying the oil mixture as well. now my question is: is that extra oil mixture on my gas tank will make my engine run leaner since it is less fuel with the same amount of air. is this good or bad? are any of you guys running mixed gas? thanks.

Well from what i can figure (running 3oz to every gal plus stock pump on a fresh 44mm big bore, piston, and rings) your lean on fuel, rich on air and oil such as i am. which means your lubing the heck outta the thing which is good for what we're doing.. i hope i'm right on this all. lol otherwise everthing i've thought about breaking in is wrong. lol

but if you pull your plug it ougha be good N oily! or black in color. which is will be ok for breaking in. just TAKE IT EASY ON IT!

Same rules apply. You want to run more oil than normal during the break-in, as there is more friction in the cylinder during that time.
