Re: Next upgrade, need suggestions for SA50P
Ok, so I've been doing some reading and I think the BBK is the route I would like to take. My main concern was reliability since I ride my scooter hard and don't want to have to worry if something is going to blow up considering it's my daily rider when weather permits. However, after reading more ...

Re: Next upgrade, need suggestions for SA50P
I just did a search on the forum as well as google and I wasn't seeing a place to procure the 78cc niksal BBK. What kind of acceleration are getting with the niksal and 7.5 gears. I was under the assumption that if you did a BBK it was recommended or highly recommended that you swap your carb as ...

Next upgrade, need suggestions for SA50P
I'm back after doing a slue of upgrades to my SA50P last summer which included installing SR Oil Pump, Split Throttle Cable, Keli Variator w/ 9g weights, SEF Ramp Plate, 9.8:1 gear set (15x42), and #85 jet. I would say currently my top speed is around 43mph on level ground and I've topped out at ...

Acceptable product for cleaning transmission case?
Hello,
I am in the process of doing a gear change and figured while I have the transmission case cracked open I might as well clean it up. Is it ok to use simple green in that area of the scooter? I know simple green is great for cleaning exterior of engine but wasn't sure bout internal parts ...

Re: SA50 Secondary Gear Upgrade Suggestions?
TrafficJamz thanks for the reply.
I pulled the 16x41 or 8.96:1 information from vt cycles website ( VT Cycles Product Link ). If in fact the 8.96 does work in the SA50 would you advise I still go with the 9.8:1, or even the 16x42 since VT Cycle sells those as well? After doing the gear change I don ...

ktroy, I was just looking at the 9.8:1 last night. Did you see top end improvement as well?ktroy wrote:I got the 9.8:1 from vt cycles and am very happy with them. Lots of mountains around here so the lower gearing helps.

SA50 Secondary Gear Upgrade Suggestions?
Hello all again. So I am looking VT cycle site and see I can get either the 16x41 or 16x42 secondary gear change set which is 8.96:1 or 9.1:1 respectively. Does the community have any suggestions on which is 'best' or better? I figure they are so close won't make huge differences except in the top ...

With out looking I am not 100% sure but my gut tells me I raised it up one notch. Please, let me know what is correct please.Which way did you 'bump" the needle clip? up or down?
Also, raising the clip will lean the mixture and lowering will richen it up correct?

Re: Opening up Air-box to let it breath more freely
Hello,
The washer on the exhaust has been removed, installed SR oil pump w/ split throttle cable, bump needle clamp one notch, installed #85 main jet, running Keli variator w/ 9g weights, also went ahead and installed a SEF ramp plate.
This evening I drilled out the other air intake hole on the ...

Re: Rear wheel won't spin freely (nor clutch/drive pulley)
Please, the term is BRAKE . Break is when you break something, like your scooter or a glass jar.
Like I mentioned previously my brain hasn't been function properly as of late or as my g/f would say the dimmer switch is on low. haha. I screw up my words sometimes but actually surprised ...

Re: Rear wheel won't spin freely (nor clutch/drive pulley)
I hadn't seen your comment about the break. I must have read it before you edited it.
I was sitting on the couch and thought to myself "did you leave the break on..." and immediately went out to the garage and went *PALM FACE* as I still saw the break engaged. Started the scoot, removed break, and ...

PROBLEM SOLVED...
Turns out I am a colossal moron today. I have my front console apart as well. So in order to start the scoot I needed a third hand to hold the break, give it a little gas, and hit the start button. That third hand came in the form of me engaging the rear breaks and once the scoot ...
