Diff. between 2009 and 2013 met wheel?

I see that 2009 was the last year the metropolitan came with a 90/90-10 tire. The newer model metro's starting in 2013 come with a 80/100-10 tire.

My question is this..are the wheels/rims, whatever you call them, the same size? I see the tire size has changed but are the wheels/rims the same size ...

Lose RPM's after 35 mph

Why? Tach says about 7,200ish right around 35mph then drops about 300 RPM's as my mph still slowly climbs.

Re: Dio variator in af16 elite issues

The belt does get hit first, it takes up the slack. If it starts to spread open the rear pulley as your tightening it down then maybe its too big. The belt cant go down without taking up slack elsewhere, my rear pulley the belt sits not much over it on. I don't know, I guess maybe i'd need to get a ...

Re: Dio variator in af16 elite issues

My guess is those rollers are far too heavy combined with a soft center spring. take your rear cover off, and rev the bike. If the pulley on the rear starts to shift, as the clutch is grabbing your rollers are too heavy, and/or your rear spring is too soft.

That is probably one of the most ...

Re: Dio variator in af16 elite issues

THe polini belt is same width as stock.

I have ran, and sold probably 150 of those exact setups, with zero issues.

480 is the right number. There is only one for the af16.

Are you sure about the width? The description for your dio polini belt even says "wider than your stock belt" Think this ...

Re: Dio variator in af16 elite issues

Try lighter weights... When u give it WOT off the start does it rev up or bog?? What type of contra spring u running ?

The weights are not the issue, with my other variator the scooter flys right off the bat no problem. But now, with this polini, it bogs, wont hardly rev at all for 3-4 seconds at ...

Re: Dio variator in af16 elite issues

you need to pull that boss, and put the oem one back in.

on the polini vari with stock width belt you need to run the oem boss in the polini vari. easy fix.

This is exactly what I ran today, (polini variator, stock elite belt, stock elite boss) and from a dead stop, gave it full throttle, the ...

Re: Dio variator in af16 elite issues

So did a run with the polini variator, stock elite boss, stock elite belt...sucked. Take off took like 3 to 4 seconds for it to move at all. Top speed was actually pretty good but took awhile to get there. Next i wanna try polini variator with the polini boss and stock elite belt.
This does not ...

Re: Dio variator in af16 elite issues

Also maybe try rollers instead of sliders? I ran it again with a different ramp plate, take off got way worse, was grabbing at a lower rpm but seems like it took a lot more just to get it to move.
