Basicly backing up user Monkeywrench that yes I too got 45 mph by adding a variator!
The weights were what came with the "Keli" prob 6 gram? Not sure!
My Bike is listed below in my sig...The variator and center spring was the first thing I did to my scoot ...

I'm here to tell ya a keli variator and a NEW OEM belt got me over 45 MPH!
Stock gears, stock engine, stock carb, and pipe.
Only other thing I added was a west german clutch center spring 1000 rpm.
